Buying concert tickets with a broker will bring you to the music

Concerts are fun to go to and if you are a music fan of any genre, you may be wondering what the best way is to get quality tickets at an affordable rate. Buying concert tickets with a broker will bring you straight to the heart of music and when you can enjoy your favorite artists in concert, you will love your broker for it. Buying concert tickets with a broker is easier then you think, quicker then you think and probably, a bit cheaper then you would first expect. Let’s look at a few of the myths people have about buying concert tickets with a broker:

Myth number one: Buying concert tickets with a broker is tough. This myth stops a lot of people from buying tickets from a broker because they figure it is more complicated than it actually is. All it really consists of is finding your favorite concert or musician (which you probably know!) and then picking up the phone or clicking purchase on the broker’s website. A broker’s website works much in the same way a ticket office does where you can pay with your credit or debit card on a secure site and have your tickets mailed to you next day air. It is easier then you think.

Myth number two: Buying concert tickets with a broker takes a long time. This is not true and in fact, it often works much in the opposite effect. Buying concert tickets through a broker is often quicker then buying them through a ticket office. Why? Brokers only have a certain amount of tickets to concerts but they want to make sure they sell them because any unsold tickets mean no profit. A lot of time you can even pre pay a broker for certain tickets at a concert you know will be sold out and you just don’t feel like waiting in line. While you may pay a slightly higher price for these tickets, you will still get them hassle free and very quickly.

Myth number three: Buying concert tickets with a broker is expensive. Many people think that if they are going to buy a concert ticket with a broker then they are going to spend a bucket load of money, not true. While you may pay a little more then retail value, you are also getting incredibly good seats (even to sold out concerts), with the least amount of hassle and you can even get them at the very last minute. The price can sometimes be cheaper too, something you don’t often hear about when discussing ticket brokers. When a concert comes up and all the broker’s tickets are not sold yet, they may decide to sell under value tickets just to get rid of them. Keep your eyes open for good last minute deals.

Buying concert tickets with a broker is a smart way to shop and if you dispel the three myths listed above, it doesn’t look so bad, huh?

You Don’t Have To Be Lucky To Get A Cheap Concert Ticket!

If you think only lucky people manage to get a cheap concert ticket, think again! If you’re an ardent concert viewer, it’s your privilege to get concert tickets at a discount or cheaper rate.

Generally, discount tickets are available in which you can save up to 70% against the ticket’s face value. This is great! But, the question is – how to get such tickets?

How A Cheap Concert Ticket Can Be Yours!

Before you start your hunt for a cheap concert ticket, you need to know that there are different kinds of cheap tickets. They differ from national to international concerts.

There are greater chances for you to get about 15%-70% discount on your concert ticket, if you’ve bought a ticket of the same rock star’s concert before. However, for that you need to put in some efforts. You need to determine the ticket agency or services. They are often directly connected to the organizers of the concert. They offer a variety of facilities to concert lovers. Once you find them out and request for a concert ticket, they’ll most eagerly provide you one at a cheaper rate.

Here’s more good news – groups that belong to some organization or facility have better chances of getting discount tickets. One such group is that of students! So, all you university scholars out there, keep your books down and have a blast with your favorite rock star!

For families, there’s even bigger reason to rejoice. It’s a mystery, but ticket sellers have a greater affinity towards their consistent members and families! They offer huge discounts to them! Also, they keep them updated with the forthcoming family shows. So, if your family is visiting after a long time, what better way than to take them to the most happening concert in town? You’ll have a family get-together to remember!

What about the sports freaks? Well, you can either book a discount ticket or buy in advance. America is a sports hub. Throughout the year, you’ll find some or the other sports event or concert taking place in different cities. Hence, there are hordes of services that are involved in booking sports concert tickets to sports fans. They also provide the latest information about sports activities.

Why don’t you join a fan club? This is a great way to get a cheap sports concert ticket! It’s a usual practice for sports clubs to give away bulk of tickets to affiliated clubs. If you remain an active member of your club, you’ll receive a ticket each time a sports event takes place in your neighborhood.

It’s a common thing to know that the bigger the event, the higher is the price of concert ticket. We know your heart is at the concert. But, if you apply your brains a little more, you can well get past through the hysterical crowd and get a seat in the front row without spending many dollars.

Get a cheap concert ticket and let the world envy you!

Bjork Concert Tickets : Get One And Put The World’s Troubles On Hold

Bjork Concert Tickets
: Heaven Sent For Us Mere Mortals

The President of Iceland got it right in 1997 – he conferred on Bjork the title of Lady, for services to her country.

Lady Bjork started as a new age punk princess and her incredible voice got her an album deal at the age of 11. She then sang in various anarchic punk bands in Iceland until she hit the bigtime with The Sugarcubes.

Her addictive new age dance music (”Big Time Sensuality” and “Human Behaviour”) propelled her to goddesshood and made her not just Bjork Gudmundsdottir (the name she was born with) but simply “Bjork”.

When you’re really famous you can get away with dropping the last name and to be honest I’m glad she did – Bjork Gudmundsdottir is a bit of a mouthful!

Bjork’s music and her dreams are her life. She won’t be reigned in by genre or trends – she creates her own music and changes her identity to suit – and she goes wherever the music takes her.

Her concerts are exceptional events. Not for this Lady the easy repeat of past efforts. Bjork takes you on a highly charged, emotional journey and you’re guaranteed to feel refreshed, amazed and saying “Wow” for a long while after. Sheer and utter magic!

If you can get a Bjork Concert Ticket, get it and put the world’s troubles on hold for a while.

A Bjork concert is an incredible “one-off” – for each tour, she not only reinvents herself as a person but she takes her music to the extreme.

Whilst her CV includes vocalist, musician, composer, singer-songwriter, producer, arranger, programmer, actress, fashion model – it can in no way explain the phenomenal range that she embraces within some of these categories.

For instance, her music includes influences of dance, trip hop/electronica, folk, punk, new-age, jazz, classical, pop and more.

And each track has a clear vision. Take Vespertine, her first solo release following the critically acclaimed Homogenic in 1997. The name itself has a literal meaning relating to the evening, and the theme of dark nights in a cozy, comfortable place.

Bjork commented at the time that : “The album’s very much about being alone in your house in a very quiet, introverted mood.” And it was exactly that. A brilliant album for late nights with some peace and quiet, a glass of brandy and some cheese and biscuits!

Sheer heaven!

And so it is with every Bjork concert. You get transported into a different world by a musical genius who puts her visions and dreams before critical success or album sales. Every project Bjork touches turns to gold, so if you get a chance to see one of the all-too-rare events called a Bjork concert – get the best ticket you can afford. It’s an experience not to be missed.

How to Get Concert Tickets You Know Are Going to Sell Out

Posted by Concert List | Posted in Concert Promotion, Country Music | Posted on 25-02-2009

Concert Tickets for certain artists can and sometime will sell out within minutes. Many people always ask what they can do to get concert tickets they know are going to sell out. There are a few thing that can certainly be done. One thing to do is sign up to artists mailing list or fan club. By joining the musicians fan club, you not only get emails announcing their upcoming concerts our tour, but many also give their members a chance to get tickets before the general public. They do this by sending out presale passwords and having companies like Ticketmaster sell tickets the advertised on-sale dates. Only members with presale passwords will be able to purchase tickets in advance. If there is a band or musician which you must attend every concert they have in your area, then joining their fan club is a good idea. Not all fan club members will be able to get tickets though, as there may be more members than the actual amount of tickets they are releasing.

Another way to get concert tickets is just by trying to buy them when they go on-sale to the general public. The one thing you need to know here is that you have to buy them the minute they go on sale. The way to do this is to find out the time they are going to go on sale and in what time zone. You should load up your browser up to the website selling the tickets several minutes before the release time. Navigate to the page where you select the number of tickets. Before you start the search, make sure you wait right until the on-sale time. If you are able to find seats you may purchase them or release them and search again. Remember that a lot of other people will be searching the same way and releasing tickets back if they are not satisfied with the seat selection.

If you know that the concert will sell out, you should buy your concert tickets if they are in a good location. A lot of times, people think that they can get pit tickets or tickets in the first row and will release perfectly good seat selections in hopes that they can get better seats. The odds of you finding better seat locations after you have released good seats is slim to none. If you do have great seats, get them.

If the show sells out and you were not able to get any seats, you still can get some on the secondary market. Ticket prices will generally be higher because the seller can set the price at whatever he or she wants. Pricing will be determined by how popular the concert is and how high the demand is. Ticket brokers will usually have a large selection of ticket in premium areas such as pit or front and center rows. You can usually search the ticket brokers inventory at your leisure online. This way, you can select the best seat locations without feeling any pressure.

Start your search for concert tickets now! TicketSourceOnline.com has a wide selection of concert tickets and sports tickets available online. Click here to find the concert seats you are looking for. Use coupon code “5off” at checkout and receive 5% off your ticket purchase!

Promote Your Concert – 11 Tips for Bigger Crowds

Posted by Concert List | Posted in Concert Promotion | Posted on 04-02-2009

How well attended was your last concert? If you were playing to an empty hall or your band outnumbered the attendees, you need to promote your concert in a big way!

Consider all the advertising avenues available to promote your concert

On-line promotion sites…

There are many of them on-line. Do a search for “concert promotion” or “event publicity” and you will find several.

Set up your own web site…

If you don’t have your own site, set up a Blogger blog. These are free and easy to use, and you have an instant URL to provide to the public. If you’ve got an additional 9 or 10 bucks, register a domain name and redirect it to the Blogger blog.

Provided detailed directions to the site venue. Include parking information and any traffic snafus that your audience might encounter on the way.

Make a Youtube video…

Youtube is one of the most visited sites on the planet. Even a basic video with info about the concert will work. A sneak peek of the show might pull in more fans, too!

Put up a Myspace page…

Myspace is hot, especially with young people.

Don’t forget Squidoo…

Google loves Squidoo.

Issue a press release…

Try this site…

Webwire.com

It costs $19, but the big Search Engines (including Google) love it, probably because the charge keeps the junk out.

Radio stations…

A well-placed ad can be heard by more people than you might think, especially during “drive times.” Your advertising budget will dictate how much you can spend and which station you can use, but don’t be afraid to contact all the stations in your area. They might have some leftover air time you can pick up cheap.

Television…

Local cable stations are a bargain. Local network affiliates often feature community bulletin boards.

Newspapers…

Local papers often have a section where your event can be listed for free.

Flyers…

These are effective when posted on high-traffic-area bulletin boards, such as you find on college campuses. Avoid placing flyers in places that can get you in trouble, such as on car windshields. Local businesses might put them in their windows for you.

Word of mouth…

If your group has a lot of members, such as a high school band, challenge everyone to invite at least five people. 100 members x 5 invitees = 500 people in your crowd!

Miscellaneous…

Make T-shirts advertising the event.

Get car magnets for your vehicles.

Put a big sign on a parked vehicle in a conspicuous place.

Promote your concert and pull in a huge crowd as well as big ticket receipts!

Cyberflute is a top on-line flute resource. Got a flute-related event coming up? Post it here…

Looking To Apply Concert Lighting To Outdoor Area

Posted by Concert List | Posted in Concert Promotion, Country Music | Posted on 03-02-2009

If you’ve ever been to a concert then you have probably been wowed by the amazing display of lighting. The techniques used in

musical concert are only used to enhance the mood of the music being played. Whether it’s indoor or outdoor these lighting

techniques uses subtleties in order to highlight the band playing without being to overwhelming.

Are you looking for something new for you landscaping? Concert lighting outdoors could be the special addition you need. Here

are some tips to help you with your concert outdoor lighting.

Rule #1 – Back Lights

If we compare concert outdoor lighting to real concert lighting, the major difference is that during a real concert, most of

the light comes from the front, they use big spotlights and flood lights to illuminate the center of the action. Has for

concert outdoor lighting the light should always come from behind what you are trying to illuminate. You see your goal is to

establish a relaxing mood and identify what you are trying to light at the same time. You will achieve this by placing the

lights behind, creating an interesting play of shadow and light.

Rule #2 – Who’s the star?

Most of the time musical formations have a leader; this leader is the one we see the most. This rule can also be applied to

your concert outdoor lighting; we will need to determine what the masterpiece of your concert outdoor lighting setup is. It

could be things like:

- Decorative fountain
- Your prize Rosebush
- Or any other part of your landscape.

But choose the one that you like the most. This is where we deviate from the rule #1. This center piece alone is the only one

who is allowed to have any light come from the front, this is the only exception.

Rule #4 – Colors are important

One of the most important factors about your concert outdoor lighting is colors. Most people don’t realize that the color of

your lighting plays an important role in the mood you are trying to create. This is easily achievable since today most

outdoor lighting fixtures are available with LED displays, which can easily, at very little cost, provide color to your

concert outdoor lighting.

Rule #5 – Use Variety and Simplicity

To create an amazing display of light you will need to use different and complementary colors for your back lights. The same

goes for what you will use to illuminate your centerpiece. The goal here is to set the mood without illuminating too much,

this is very important. Don’t fall in the trap of illuminating too much, this will create glare and your concert outdoor

lighting setup will be too bright to look at in the dark. As I said, use color for your back lights to set a relaxing mood.

Make sure you follow These 5 basics rules, doing this will make sure you have an amazing outdoor concert lighting display.

Concert Promoter Learn a Rock Music Career – Spotlight on Concert Promotions

Concert promoters can easily be thought of as major event planners. Every detail of the concert has to go off without a hitch and that responsibility lies solely with the promoter. Concert promotion is a demanding career that requires serious attention to detail. In order to be an effective and successful concert promoter, a high level of organization is necessary. Losing track of important contact names, dates, telephone numbers or venue information could prove disastrous.

The world of concert promotions is full of contracts, legal agreements, insurance policies and riders. In order to make the best business decisions, a concert promoter has to have a working knowledge of all of these legal documents. Not understanding parts of a contract or rider can lead to confusion and difficulties down the road.

Concert promoters can make a huge amount of money, and then, they can lose money as well. Most people don’t realize that quite often, concert promoters actually use their own money to fund a concert event. All of the event expenses are his or her responsibility up front. Once the tickets have been sold, the band gets their cut and the bills get paid. It’s only then that the promoter gets what’s left. For this reason, it’s of the utmost importance to get as many paying customers in the door as possible.

Some of the major costs involved with concert promotion are the venue rental and event insurance. The promoter contacts the venue and works out a cost for the duration of the event. Some venues will require up-front payment while others may require a down payment with the remainder due at the end of the concert. Insurance is absolutely necessary and helps to protect the venue owners, concert promoter and band from possible litigation.

In addition, the concert promoter bears the cost of all advertising promotions and other marketing costs. Promoters these days have a variety of choices for marketing. They can use the internet, radio, TV and even flyers to get the word out about their event. Marketing, when done properly, usually takes up a fairly substantial portion of the concert promoters budget.

A successful concert promoter understands how to advertise to get the most people to buy tickets for the show. They’ve got to have a good sense of the band that they’re promoting as well as their fans. Whether a concert attracts a huge audience or a small one depends on how well the event was promoted, plain and simple. Concert promoters really have one objective; to make sure that enough tickets sell to make a profit. Ideally, all the tickets will sell for every night or day the event will run, but that’s not guaranteed.

The location, size and even layout of a venue has to be taken into consideration by the concert promoter. In order to put on a great rock concert, everything has to be just right. Everything must be considered, from band dressing rooms to the house sound system and lighting. Pleasing the band is only part of the story though. The audience has to be taken care of as well, both inside and outside the venue. Things like security, parking and even restroom facilities all fall under the concert promoters watchful eye.

At some concerts, the concert promoter will have to pitch in and help in other ways. Concert promoters are usually responsible for making sure things are ready for the band. This might include setting up the stage, doing sound-checks and lighting adjustments. Quite often it also means they’ll have to decorate the venue to suit the concert.

At smaller events, the concert promoter is often responsible for collecting tickets or working the merchandise table. At certain types of events, they may even have the task of checking ID’s at the door the day of the event. Promoters are often also responsible for helping to break down the stage used by the band. Clean-up after the concert may also be the promoters job, depending on the negotiated contract.

Being a concert promoter can be exciting, rewarding and risky, but it’s worth it. Concert promoters have great jobs because they work directly with the musicians. Besides that and the fact that the income can be excellent, remember, they’ve got some of the best seats in the house at every show.

Concert Promotions – The Big Dream

Posted by Concert List | Posted in Concert Promotion | Posted on 18-01-2009

1

Concert promotion is an integral part of the music industry. Concert promoters are the people that get the artists scheduled to perform at a venue. Concert promotion is not to be taken lightly or entered into without sufficient backing in terms of finances and experience. Some people dream all their lives about putting on a great event featuring top talent. Concert promotion is a demanding career that requires serious attention to detail. In order to be an effective and successful concert promoter, a high level of organization is necessary.

Concert promotions are typically a 5% net margin business. Not exactly a sexy bottom line. Concert promotion is a risky and low-margin business. In Q2 07 — traditionally, the spring and summer are the strongest for the concert business — Live Nation squeaked out operating income of $36 million on sales of $1 billion. Concert promotion is a very ugly business. Everyone seems to jump on the promoter for everything.

The last people who catch the heat are the performers, although many times the problems surfacing at a scheduled concert can be laid at their feet. But the bottom line is there would be no concert without the performers. So what’s the chance that the performers are going to be held responsible. Now while it wasn’t a concert per se, the performance during the infamous super bowl half time show by Janet Jackson when there was the costume problem, the crap that flew because of that was laid at the feet of the artists. I personally think it did nothing but boost Miss Jackson’s appeal and give her career a little kick in the pants.

Whichever way you look at it, budding young concert promoter hopefuls are going to have a tough time breaking into the big time. But there is plenty of opportunity for a young aggressive business type to work on a regional level and hone his or her skill. It’s a fact that people love music. And music of all types. As proof of that I offer up the fact that in our local area, every year there is a big Accordion festival. Yes I said, Accordion. And it draws scores of fans. And I’m not talking about 40 fans sitting on a couple of benches. People come from all over the country to perform at the concert. And on top of that, music buffs from all over the country travel here to attend the festival. Go figure. Next time you see someone eating a bratwurst……who knows, they may be a big accordion fan.

Concert Promotions is a fascinating business and has a seemingly magical lure to a lot of people, but it is a very tough road to travel. There are many other jobs or careers that offer better chances of success, but the cachet connected with the music industry is just too strong for many to resist.

Live Music Dominates New Orleans Nightlife

Live Music Dominates New Orleans Nightlife-New Orleans is known as the birthplace of jazz, an honor the city prides itself in. From dim lit jazz clubs lining the city streets to its annual Jazz and Heritage Festival, New Orleans is a great American music city. Jazz isn’t the only music being created in the Big Easy though. Many music clubs and venues offer an eclectic mix of blues, gospel, hip hop, rock and more.

One venue offering up a diverse musical roster is the House of Blues in the French Quarter. Any given week this club can host inspiring musicians and full blown rock stars. A wide variety of musical genres are present at the New Orleans location of this national chain. The heart and soul of the venue besides the music itself is the interesting surroundings and attentive staff. These features give this location its heart and make this corporate club seem more mom and pop. The Sunday Gospel Brunch is also a very attractive weekly event that draws a crowd.

TwiRoPa is the Warehouse District’s premiere music and art complex. This complex houses 100,000 square feet of clubs, music venues, galleries, bars and convention space. The nearly 100-year-old building was once the site of a mill that produced Twine, Rope and Paper. These products are also how this complex received its interesting name TwiRoPa. Live music and DJs are all the rage at this hip location that has quickly made a name for itself.

One New Orleans club that has earned its reputation over time is Tipitina’s Uptown. For over 25 years Tipitina’s has been considered the finest music club in New Orleans. The club is named in honor of its patron saint Professor Longhair for his song Tipitina. The club pays tribute to the New Orleans piano man through performances of local and national artists. Local artists such as the Funky Meters and Galactic regularly play to the crowds and headliners Pearl Jam and Lenny Kravitz have also graced Tip’s Big Stage. The club is a very hot spot during the Jazz and Heritage Festival with its own Fess Jazztival concert series.

Another New Orleans music club steeped in history and tradition is Uptown’s Maple Leaf. Cajun meets Caribbean as this club features a variety of music including reggae and zydeco. The Maple Leaf is a happening spot with a packed dance floor bumping till the wee hours of the morning. Poetry readings and special events round out this club as one of New Orleans finest.

Looking for some rock in Crescent City? The Howlin’ Wolf is regarded as New Orleans quintessential rock club. Here local and national recording artists hone there chops for legions of adoring fans. The Howlin’ Wolf is an unassuming space with a stage, three bars and original artwork from New Orleans artists Lionel Milton and Frenchy. Definitely the spot you want to go for modern rock, the club also features Jazz Thursdays and many celebrated local artists like George Porter Jr.

Local artists and music venues draw their inspiration from Congo Square, the birthplace of jazz. One of these clubs is the famed Funky Butt. This bordello turned club is now the home of modern jazz In New Orleans. Many celebrated and soon to be celebrated musicians have graced the butt’s stage. The club is located in a somewhat rough part of town so a taxi is a better choice than walking to the club.

Traditional jazz fans will want to seek out Preservation Hall in the French Quarter. This hall doesn’t serve or allow food, drinking or smoking. New Orleans style jazz is on the only item on the menu at this rustic hall inspiring to keep traditional jazz alive. The 35 minute sets start at 8:15 pm nightly and includes an intermission. Preservation Hall is a historic jazz experience music fans will want to check out.

Truly a musical city, New Orleans has clubs that cater to anyone’s musical cravings. Creative spaces and incredible talent make the city’s clubs attractive to locals and visitors alike. No trip to New Orleans is complete without a visit to one the city’s fine music venues.
