RAP Music and Brain Washing Issues

Posted by Concert List | Posted in Western Music | Posted on 02-10-2009

I am not sure if anybody has been watching out there, about the categories of music that all of us are listening to. Let us look at them for a minute. Our grandparents listen to music like ; “Happy Days are Here Don’t forget, the Skies Above Are Clear Again.” kids now listen to RAP, which actually begins with a ‘C’ except the ‘C’ is silent in this new spelling and pronunciation. Its really, CRAP. A radio station in TX is actually called K-RAP. Perfect.

It is not that the music is so bad; actually it’s wonderful, because its rhythm and cadence puts individuals in a convergence state of mind. In other words it puts them into theta state of mind and that’s where it’s easier to suggest a new thought or to brainwash in sleep state. The initiation of such brainwaves is authoritative indeed. The tactics are furthermore used in certain churches and Sales and motivational seminars. furthermore during commercials and government uses them to some degree for vital endeavor s, for instance cadence in military marching. The gangster rap is not wonderful in that it suggests killing, drugs, other gang activities while putting its listener into the convergence state of mind. This is a negative thing, and can cause these individuals to dwell on certain thoughts and give them suggestions that they can with proper gang mentality attempt one or more of the activities talked about in the tunes. It would be much better to have tunes with that type of cadence, which  promote d wonderful deeds and love. Perhaps there are a lot of of these types of tunes yet they do not sell eminently well and I do not here positive rap tunes as much as I should. Mostly the Gangster Rap.

a lot of Techno type tunes are furthermore negative in nature. But these tunes do not have the proper beats per minute to put a person into a trance like state, where suggestive behavior is introduced that’s a throw back to before the human change in society. It is possible to disallow this type of music? Music is an escape for a lot of people to the fast paced life, and being in a trace state is probably a nice state to be in, if one wanted to escape from the world for a while. A strong Bass in a song and certain beats per minute introduce this convergence state, then the subject is 100 percent ready for fresh new input. Theta States of mind are induced and a waken dream state provides for simple subconscious input.

But what are we allowing to be put into these minds of altered state? songs of this nature are better than drugs, yet the drugs would effect the singular and not the victims of the deed that are done once the behavior of an individual are altered through this convergence. There is freedom of expression in this country yet the listeners are not realizing the effect of the changes as they occur. They are being brain has been hed while listening to their preferred music. Which become more favored because it puts them in a trace state allowing them to escape from problems of life. Hey no one said life has been simple, right? I believe Rappers should be thrown in the trash cans, not littering the minds of our youth. It expenses organizations money for graffiti cleaning and tax payers money in police. The fee to society is too wonderful to calculate as a whole, but it is real. Rather than eliminate a cultural phenomena.

Let us instead make each record label and performer (I use this loosely as I do not approve of the RAP, but in the absence of passing judgment) establish 10 tunes with positive lyrics for every one song of negative lyrics. That solves that problem. people could still escape in their trance state, record companies still make money, the constitution is still upheld, but there will be less negative and more positive thought going on when trance like state is producing more of one chemical in the brain than another. A person in this state is simple to recognize, their eyes are glossy and remain so for while following wards.

The Live Music Scene in Austin Texas

Posted by Concert List | Posted in live music | Posted on 30-09-2009

There is more live music going on in Austin, Texas on any given night than there is in any other city in the world. That’s why the city has put a trademark on it’s message “Live Music Capital of the World.”

There are hundreds of live music Venues in the city and its immediate environs.  A lot of are situated in three central entertainment districts: Sixth Street/Red River, the Warehouse district and South Austin. Sixth Street/Red River is the famous sector in downtown Austin that is known around the world for it is live music scene and regularly boisterous crowds that fill Sixth Street on the weekends when it is closed to traffic. The Warehouse district runs west from Congress Ave. along Fourth and Fifth Streets. That’s where Antone’s is located, the Venue that USA Today has named the best blues venue in the country. In South Austin, there are a number of clubs on South Congress, South first St. and South Lamar that offer up some of the best new and original music in town.

The road to its live music capital status began way back in the 1960’s when a spirit of eclecticism appeared with the hippies and anti-war protesters of that era. Inclusion has been in and exclusion has been out, no pun intended. With the 70’s, this eclectic spirit gave birth to a form of music that has been again and again called progressive country. Joe Ely, along with co-Lubbockites Jimmy Dale Gilmore and Butch Hancock, brought this music down to Austin and hooked up with Marcia Ball and Delbert McClinton and cosmic cowboys like Jerry Jeff Walker, Michael Martin Murphy, Rusty Weir and Ray Wiley Hubbard. Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings came back from Nashville during that time to performance tle in Austin where they can take control of the production of their songs. A wild and compelling musical vortex formed that saw psychedelic rock and roll mix with straight out country and blues at Clubs such as the Armadillo World Headquarters, Threadgill’s, the Soap Creek Saloon and the Broken Spoke. It has been cool to dig the psychedelic sound of the 13th Floor Elevators and the uncompromising country licks of Alvin Crow at the same time.

Then, in 1975, a 30-minute University of Texas music program has been accepted by a number of PBS affiliate stations and Austin City Limits has been launched and has become the longest running program in the history of PBS. It has propelled Austin to the forefront of the music industry’s consciousness in the USA and around the world. That first program featured Willie Nelson, but has since put Texas music notables such as Marcia Ball, Lyle Lovett, Robert Earl Keen, Asleep at the Wheel and many, many others in the national and world spotlight.

In more recent years, the South by Southwest showcase every Spring that brings nearly 1500 musicians and musical acts to town to be seen and heard by industry executives and AR types, along with the Austin City Limits Festival in September, have kept the city on the national music map.  In addition,  dozens of other smaller festivals are held each year, as well as a number of nationally meaningful ones in the surrounding Hill Country such as the Kerrville Folk Festival and the Old  set tlers Reunion in Buda, just south of town.

The Austin music scene has always been a free-wheeling, break-the-mold, think-out-of-the-box kind of affair. That early eclecticism lives on in the current scene, although some characteristics of the town’s soundscape seem to have become entrenched. Sixth Street/Red River attracts a young, event animal kind of crowd with it is rock and roll, blues and punk scene. The Warehouse district caters to a bit older and more professional crowd in general. And South Austin retains the feel of Austin in the 70’s with its nouveau hippie coffeehouses and crowds and its prefer ence for wonderful singer/songwriters. Still, there are always exceptions to those general tendencies just about anywhere you go.

Austin remains a city where musical creativity and skill thrive and defy expectations. That may be experienced close up and personal in any number of live music Clubs on any given night.

Music – Who Wants to Live in the absence of It?

Music has always played a major part of my life, as from the earliest age I might recall classical music constant ly playing in our home. Dad had many 78s and an electric player which necessitated frequent needle vary s. In fact I used to watch him vary them religiously every eight plays – not something he would let anybody at all else do!!

As children, all of us used to give singing recitals – especially at Christmas times!! I am grateful for the exposure our parents gave us to music – even if dad was a bit single minded when, in the late 50’s my brother Kenneth, bought home a recording of a new rock-n-roll singer called Buddy Holly I think dad thought it was not proper music and that the record couldn’t possibly be up to the same standard as his Beethoven or Mozart recordings!!

He used to have constant discussions with Kenneth about playing them on his’ radiogram. And as for the Beatles and Rolling Stones records I wanted to play a few years later – no comment!!

Both my two brothers were taught to performance classical music on the piano by our Aunty Win. For myself; it has been 1962 and I has been far too interested in my Uncle Frank’s brand new MGB roadster to concentrate – try as my mum did to  encourage  me!!

My eldest brother, Robert, turned out to be a highly accomplished musician – playing the French horn professionally for many years. Kenneth, my other brother, in later years, would get all his beer bought for him in the NAFFI bar, bashing out tunes when all of us had a  set – mind you he always had a bad head the next day!

After I left home and joined the British Armed Forces, I have to say my mates weren’t too happy about Grieg being played in the barrack room. Same problem as my dad had – varying music. So I had to use earphones to listen to him. But when ‘The Who’ came on – now, that has been a varying story – then we used to get into trouble with the Duty Sergeant for playing the music too loud!!

Anyway, over the years, I’ve developed a passion for all categories of music and my collection of vinyl records has now grown to include Amadeus Mozart through to Led Zeppelin. But, I guess if I had to select just one piece of music to take to that desert island it’d have to be -

Mozart’s Concerto for Clarinet and Orchestra No1 in F Minor, Op 73

My favorite recording of this outstanding piece -  (only one of a few !)

Deutshe Grammophon 136550 SLPEM (stereo – 1968) Karl Leister, Clarinet, Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Rafael Kubelik.

I bought this recording whilst stationed in Ger a lot of in 1970 – since then I have obtain ed other fine recordings of the Concerto, but I find Karl Leister’s interpretation of the Adagio(in particular) perfectly captures Mozart’s objective of writing the most profoundly expressive movement for a solo instrument.

90.Free Country Music Internet Radio

For generations, radio has been a source of information and entertainment. Over the years modern developments have been partnered to match modern trends and needs. With the appearance of Internet and computer appliances, the majority businesses have in corporate d functional vary s. This holds true even in the case of radio stations that have reinvented their approach towards expansive casting. Country music radio stations no longer serve as a simple medium. To compete with other radio channels, TV and Internet sources, free Internet radio has gained popularity. Country music offers a expansive  variety and it becomes increasingly c hall enging to classify the varying categories of classical music. AM and FM country music radio stations previously played a few tracks in a row. Many of these collections had  profoundly few classics and listeners had to make do with repeated tracks. This fuelled the need for country music Internet radio.

AM and FM radio no longer dominate as mediums to deliver music. Expansion and development of the satellite and free Internet “radio” has been brisk due to low startup and operating costs. Free Internet radio channels are able to retailer a large collection of classic country music. For this reason, audiences with diverse country music preferences are able to assess their choice s. Numerous free country music Internet radio sources are dedicated to particular type ofs of country music.

Even though Internet radio evolved over a decade ago, the mechanism is yet to develop to its full potential. Studies reveal that free country music Internet radio sources are a popular option for younger listeners. Since Internet sources are simple to use, a number of older and retired people have also turned to free country music Internet radio sources. This is because the majority members of the older generation were a part of the country classic music scene when it has been booming.

Relaxation Music – Loosen Up And Let Go!

Posted by Concert List | Posted in live music | Posted on 24-09-2009

Relaxation Music may comfort the soul if you let it in. Relaxation Music may only be thoroughly enjoyed if you loosen up and let go. Although relaxation music will endorse you relax, you need to really find pleasure in the moment to appreciate the experience.

When you loosen up and let go you’re able to breathe and have the time to experience the longevity and vibrancy of life.

Let me explain.

You can want to loosen up and let go but something stops you.

Working as a volunteer, I teach relaxation by the bedside to heart, stroke and cancer patients in hospitals.

I noticed that there has been a myth that has been stopping individuals from loosening up and letting go. The myth is that relaxation music is from the outside.

Here is an example of what I mean.

One older gentleman who’d had a stroke related me that in the past (when he was much young ) he had found relaxation by pleasing his dad. This desire made him forsake his own family because to please his dad, he was always attempting to differ the world. Changing the world meant that he got his dad’s approval.

When his dad finally acknowledged his endeavor (giving him a pat on the back) he felt relaxed. Now after having a stroke at the age of 67 he has decided it was time to spend some time with his own family.

It took a stroke for this gentleman to become aware that his relaxation music has been within him. He’s now more aware of the need to breathe and have time to experience the longevity and vibrancy of life.

Relaxation Music is part of your environment (Classical music, the a lot of sounds of nature and your favorite music). It is a part of you.

One exercise you may think about would be to decide to allow relaxation music in on a daily basis. When you decide to loosen up and let go so that relaxation music may come into you, you’ll likewise provide the music within you a opening  to play with music of a similar resonance. This resonance will now allow you to breathe and have time to experience the longevity and vibrancy of life.

In conclusion -

Relaxation music is always available. Still, your busy lifestyle, combined with the myth that relaxation music is from the outside, make it near impossible to loosen up and let go.

If you were to consider letting in relaxation music anytime you notice the feeling of the sounds on a daily basis, then you’ll find it easier to loosen up, let go, breathe and have time to experience the longevity and vibrancy of life.

Live Music Is Not Dead

Around the pubs and venues in the United Kingdom there are still many artists playing for only a few pounds to demanding audiencess who at the same time request Chuck Berry and the Arctic Monkeys. Keeping all these disparate individuals in the audiences happy is never simple, but not impossible either. With nice stage craft and clever of songs at a particular Venue, a nice band may make anybody happy.

The organization of these bands is extraordinary. They must find prefer minded performers that are committed. Then they must find somewhere to practice. This is not easy as the majority can’t do this at home. If you’re fortunate to have a house ample enough, it is un prefer ly you might get round the neighbours, as it is so loud! It can’t be turned down as everything must be as loud as the drums. A performer again and again hires a room to practice, at excellent fee to themselves.

A performer must likewise invest literally thousands on equipment. PA, lighting, guitars, drums etc.

The next hurdle is transport. For some reason the majority drummers can’t drive! Cars are a number of times inadequate as you would need a fleet of about 5 for your gig,  surprisingly expensive on the fuel, and impractical. Many bands have to hire or buy a van, again at wonderful fee to themselves.

When they have finally rehearsed all there material over weeks or months, they’re ready to play live. It’s an interesting day, one of wonder, excitement and slight fear. You turn up to the Club to find one man and his dog. And that man is uncommonly drunk, wants to be your manager, and giving you all the worth of his ‘wisdom’ in the music game! The landlord is additionally drunk, and you can’t work out if he prefers you or not.

You get poorly paid, if you get paid at all, and return home ofttimes out of pocket.

Nonetheless the real rock heroes come back for more. They find the perfect Clubs, capture a reputation, and play at some amazing places. Sure they still have bad performances, but the wonderful ones make up for it. They make it look so simple, but it is not. One such performer can be seen at http – //www.thehalfmonty.tk

The Half Monty have had there share of ups and downs. They have been ripped of at gigs, played in the most dodgy Venues, and heckled to death. But they’re still here, bigger and better than ever having learnt from their early days.

So remember, when you see a Local performer advertised at a pub or club, go see them and support them. It is not easy for the lads and lasses. Perhaps buy them a beer following the performance if you really enjoyed it. , for these are the true heroes of rock.
